Project narrative

On March 1, 2006, the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) turned over $50,000 to the CEO of the Philippine National Oil Company. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) had committed to providing this donation in the days following the February 17th landslide. The donation was to be transferred through the Philippine National Red Cross and the Philippine National Oil Company to the area of Southern Leyte to aid victims of the landslide. This donation is part of the total $1.11 million of Chinese aid given in response to the disaster (See: Record ID#68627). This project is completed.
