On October 30th, 2015, the Chinese Ambassador, Xie Bohua, and the Vanuatu Prime Minister signed letters of exchange for the 11th Chinese Medical Team (or 援瓦维拉港第十一期医疗队). On February 8th, 2017, a welcome ceremony was held for the medical team ('驻瓦努阿图大使刘全出席援瓦维拉港第十一期医疗队欢迎仪式"). The team will include 7-9 doctors and be based at the Port Vila Central Hospital, where China has been sending medical teams since 1993.
