Project narrative

On April 2nd, 2015, the fourth and fifth planes carrying Chinese-granted relief aid landed at the International Bauerfield Airport of Port Vila (or 两架援瓦救灾物资包机). This donation comes in response to the Tropical Cyclone Pam, which hit Vanuatu on March 13th and 14th, and is the final part of a larger promise from the Chinese government to provide 30 million RMB of emergency relief supplies. According to "Two Chinese Chartered Planes with Relief Aid Arrived in Port Vila in One Day," these planes delivered, "35 tons of rice, 8 tons of vermicelli(dry noodle), 200 sets of 6 kva diesel generators, 10 pieces of tarpaulins, 14 sets of 40 kva diesel generators." This project is linked to Record ID#49212 which is the 30 million RMB loan.
