Chinese Government provides assistance for the construction of the China-Myanmar Agricultural Demonstration Center

According to the news release from the Ministry of Foreign Affair of China and the Ministry of Finance of China, Myanmar and China decided to establish the China-Myanmar Agricultural Cooperation Committee in 2014 and advance the progress of constructing an Agricultural Demonstration Center. The formation of the committee is under the instruction of the "Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Myanmar on Deepening Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation between the Two Countries," which was signed on November 2014. Based on the news release from the Embassy of China in Myanmar, On August 9, 2015, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Hong Liang visited Naypyidaw and inspected 100-standard agricultural demonstration fields. It is unclear if these demonstration fields will be part of the Demonstration Center. No progress on the demonstration center has been reported. However, there were reports that Yunnan Yuntianhua Company signed an agreement with Myanmar's Ministry of Agriculture in 2018 to construct agricultural demonstration fields. It is unclear if this is part of the agricultural demonstration center project.
