In 2017, the Chinese Government provided a grant for the construction of a Confucius Institute Complex Building at the National University of Laos. The construction for this project began on September 30, 2017. The new building was opened on June 26, 2019. The total construction area of the Confucius Institute at Lao National University is about 6,400 square meters, and the construction period is 20 months. The construction general contracting enterprise is Jiangsu Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and the project management enterprise is the consortium of China Railway Engineering Design Consulting Group Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Guangxin Construction Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd. This project captures the construction of a new building for the already existing Confucius Institute at the National University of Laos (see Record ID#43956).
