Project narrative

On November 17, 2014, the Chinese Government donated FJD 269,670.06 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Fiji. The money received will help the Fijian Government to defray some of the budgeted costs agreed to by the Cabinet to facilitate Chinese President Xi's visit to Fiji. According to Fiji's Auditor General Report, Fiji's miscellaneous revenue increased by FJD 332,926 in 2014 compared to 2013. This consists of funds received from Development Partners now received and receipted by the Ministry which used to be collected and receipted by the Aid Unit of the Ministry of Finance (MOF). 81% of the increase in 2014 consisted of donations made by the Embassy of China in Fiji towards the Chinese President's visit to Fiji in November of 2014.
