Project narrative

On September 10, 2014, the handover ceremony of police supplies to the Fiji Police Force by the Chinese Ministry of Public Security took place at the Fiji Police Force camp. This donation by the Chinese Government included four vehicles, anti-riot equipment, communication equipment, monitors, camp beds, and sleeping bags. The donation was worth 3 Million RMB. It is expected that the donation would help the force ensure safety and order during the 2014 elections and play a positive role in guaranteeing the long-term security and stability of Fijian society. This donation is part of the bilateral assistance agreed to under the 2011 Memorandum of Understanding on police cooperation signed between China's Ministry of Public Security and Fiji's Ministry of Defense, National Security, and Policing (see Record ID#64694).
