On August 1st, 2016, in the Embassy of China to Jordan, Chinese Ambassador, Pan Weifang, signed an agreement granting sewing machines, laptops, and tablets to the the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization for Relief and Development's (JHCO) Azraq Project. The intent of the project is to alleviate pressure from the Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan by providing poor Jordanians and refugees with the implements to build businesses and face economic difficulties.
