Project narrative

In May 2007, Samoa's Head of State, Malieota Tanumafili II, passed away. The government of the People's Republic of China gifted a cash donation of 270,000 Samoan tala (ST$) for the funeral of the Head of State. China sent Wang Yongqiu, Special Envoy to the Pacific Islands Forum, to attend the state funeral. The funeral was held on May 18, 2007.
