Description

In August 2018, the Negros-Cebu Link Bridge project was presented in the indicative list of 12 flagship projects proposed by the Philippines for Chinese grant financing. The project involves the construction of a 5-kilometer bridge with a 2-kilometer causeway to directly link the provinces of Negros and Cebu. According to page 10 of "Infrastructure Flagship Projects Matrix as of April 2019," the project is under a pre-feasibility study, the target implementation date is 2021, and the expected completion date is 2031. As of November 2019, the project was "shelved" due to engineering problems.
