Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

According to a dataset of foreign-financed projects that Syria’s State Planning Commission (SPC) provided to UNDP Syria in May 2011, the Chinese Government provided a $500,000 grant to the Government of Syria’s Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in 2008 to provide drought relief. The grant proceeds were to be used to purchase seeds and provide them to farmers for free. This project was reportedly started on January 1, 2008 and completed on December 31, 2008.
