Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On February 3, 2016, the Chinese Embassy in Syria signed a handover certificate for the donation of emergency aid to the Druze Church in the state of Jabal al-Druze. The aid included quilts, blankets, and other materials. The Druze community of Syria is believed to constitute an estimated 3.2 percent of the Syria population (as of 2010), or approximately 700,000 persons including the Golan Heights. The Druze are concentrated in the rural, mountainous areas east and south of Damascus in the area known officially as Jabal al-Druze. Druze Church has played an important role in local refugee resettlement and humanitarian relief activities.
