Project narrative

In 2008 China sponsored a journalist tour of several cities throughout China for journalists from Samoa. They were also present for the meeting of Samoan and Chinese dignitaries, and the trade expo. The New York Times reports that a Media Tour in April 2008 was disrupted by Tibetan Monks waving the Tibetan flag. It is also possible the Media Tour was related to the 2008 Olympics, hosted in Beijing. It is unclear if this tour of Samoan journalists was one of the tours disrupted by the Tibetan demonstrations.
