Description

On June 24, 2008, the Chinese Embassy in Yemen and the Yemeni Government signed letters of exchange, which committed RMB 5 million (or $700,000) grant agreement for the Taiz Rural School Construction Project. China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) was the source of funding. This project involved the construction of a primary school with 15 classrooms in Saber al-Mawadim (صبر الموادم) district within Taiz Governorate. A construction contract was issued to Sinohydro Corporation Ltd. on April 13, 2010 in Sana'a. The project commenced on May 30, 2010 and ended on January 10, 2011. It passed final MOFCOM inspection on January 15, 2012.
