Project narrative

From July 25 to August 8, 2017, the Chinese People's Liberation Army dispatched personnel to carry out free medical service in Luang Namtha Province and Vientiane in Laos (or 中国人民解放军 “和平列车—2017”医疗服务队"). The "Peace Train" medical team is composed of 90 doctors from the Army Military Medical University, the Kunming General Hospital of Guilin Joint Logistics Support Center, and medical personnel of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The team provided medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment services for more than 1300 old military officers and soldiers. They also provided treatment to more than 400 family members and 2,400 additional people. The Chinese military doctors distributed health education manuals to each patient, including eight types of health and disease prevention knowledge, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid treatment, common knowledge of infectious disease prevention, and first aid knowledge of snake and spider bites. More than 2,000 pieces of medical equipment of ten thousand yuan are highly appreciated by all circles in Laos. At the closing ceremony held on August 6, Commodore Campe, deputy minister of the General Logistics Department of the Lao People's Army, awarded the "Friendship Medal" to the representatives of the medical team. It is linked to Record ID#68379, donation of more than 2000 medical supplies worth about 500,000 RMB from the team to the 103 hospital.
