Project narrative

On February 9, 2017, Hanban established a Chinese language instruction center at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts (Azərbaycan Dövlət Rəssamlıq Akademiyası) in the city of Baku. Then, on February 16, 2017, the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts and the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan Language University signed a cooperation agreement to improve training for art professionals. Hanban reports that a signing ceremony for the Chinese language teaching site at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts was also held by the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijani Language and Culture University on May 24, 2018. Executive President of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts Valida Mamedova, Vice President of Foreign Affairs Juliushin Aliyeva, Foreign Dean of Confucius Institute at Azerbaijan Language University, Rafik, and Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Wei Jinghua, among others, were present at the ceremony. The monetary value of the financial commitment that supported this project is unknown.
