Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On June 16, 2016, the Council of Ministers of Lebanon approved a proposed Chinese Government donation of equipment for use by a designated set of Lebanese government ministries, directorates and municipalities. Then, on March 16, 2017, the Chinese Government handed over a batch of office equipment and vehicles to the Lebanese Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR). The donation consisted of 42 cars, 370 office computers, 200 laptops, 70 printers, and 70 cameras. The aid was expected to improve the Lebanese Government's office conditions and efficiency. Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian and President of CDR Nabil El-Jisr signed the project handover certificate on behalf of their respective governments the same day.

Staff comments

This project is known as the Equipment and Vehicle Project. The Chinese project title is 黎巴嫩政府物资项目. "Year uncertain" box has been checked because while the Council of Ministers of Lebanon approved this donation on June 16, 2016, this does not represent the date that the Government of Lebanon and the Government of China signed an agreement for this donation; that event likely occurred prior to the Lebanese Government's formal approval of the agreement, and did not necessarily occur in 2016.
