Project narrative

On 29 June 2016, the opening ceremony took place in Abidjan for a seminar on rice cultivation technology (Seminaire 2016 sur les Techniques de la Culture du Riz or 水稻技术培训班). The one-month-long training course was sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and co-run by China's Foreign Economic Cooperation Center under their Ministry of Agriculture and Cote d'Ivoire's National Rice Development Office under their Ministry of Agriculture. The seminar was taught by 10 experts from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, Hunan Agricultural University, and others. The value of this training and number of students are unknown. The graduation ceremony was held on 28 July 2016. China conducted this course in 2017 (Record ID#65997), 2018 (Record ID#66010), and 2019 (Record ID#71215).
