Project narrative

On July 4, 2018, the opening ceremony for a seminar on rice cultivation technology (Seminaire 2018 sur les Techniques de la Culture du Riz or 水稻技术培训班) was held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. The one-month-long training course was sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), co-run by China's Foreign Economic Cooperation Center under their Ministry of Agriculture and Cote d'Ivoire's National Rice Development Office under their Ministry of Agriculture, and taught by various Chinese experts. The training includes modules such as Chinese cultural experience, theoretical study, on-site teaching, professional inspection, and interactive exchanges. The value of this training is unknown. The 80 students received completion certificates during the graduation ceremony held on August 2, 2018, in Abidjan. China conducted this training in 2019 (Record ID#71215), 2017 (Record ID#65997), and 2016 (Record ID#65981).
