Description
In January 2016, China Eximbank agreed in principle to extend a $50 million loan to the Government of Belarus for the reconfiguration of Grodno Hospital #3 (Городская клиническая больница №3) into an oncology dispensary or a cancer detection center. The oncology dispensary would have 320 beds, an operating unit, medical and support departments, and a radiation therapy department. The loan would have an interest rate of around 6.5-7% per annum. The loan for the hospital was to be approved under a $3 billion line of credit that China Eximbank issued in 2015 (captured in Project ID#66077). The project was planned to be implemented before 2020. However, as of March 2020, the project had still not progressed and the Government of Belarus was seeking financing from the Kuwaiti government.
