Project narrative

On 25 June and 22 August 2012, the Chinese Ambassador and Ivorian Foreign Minister signed notes of exchange in which China committed to finance and carry out a solar power project (太阳能照明示范项目). The value of this project is unknown. It is possible this was at least partially financed by ETCA #70538. Poly Solar Energy Technology, a state-owned subsidiary, was the implementing contractor and the project was officially handed over on 12 May 2015. Three villages reaped the benefits of this project: Péré, Djamdjankro and Lazakro. Works included installing: 171 140W solar DC household systems, 35 30W solar street lights, 1 1.1kW solar power supply system for Péré primary school, and 1 800W solar power supply system for Djamdjankro village activity center.
