China grants for Seminar on Agriculture Technology and Water Resource Management for Albania in 2017

Project narrative

On August 29th, 2017, the Chinese Embassy to Albania inaugurated the China-Albanian Human Resources Development Cooperation Project. The project is alternatively identified as the Chinese Seminar on Agriculture Technology and Water Resource Management for Albania in 2017. To implement the project, The Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of Chinese Embassy in Albania provided a €131,652 euro grant to the Albanian Government. According to the Albanian government, the project took place from September 4th, 2017, to September 24th, 2017. At the inauguration of the project, Chinese Ambassador to Albania, Jiang Yu, and Albanian Minister of Agriculture Panariti, met with all the Albanian participants attending the Seminar on Agriculture Technology and Water Resource Management for Albania in Beijing, China. The seminar was organized by China Agricultural University and the Tirana Agricultural University of Albania. The seminar covers agricultural development, poverty reduction experience, water resources management, and participants will visit planting bases, irrigation centers, sewage treatment plants and more locations. The project falls within the framework of an economic cooperation and technical agreement (ETCA) signed in on October 10th, 2016 by the Albanian Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Ministry of Water Resources concerning cooperation in the field of water resources management.
