Project narrative

Based on the news release from the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in Malaysia, on November 8, 2017, China Communication Construction Co., Ltd and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), a special purpose vehicle intended for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and wholly-owned by the Government of Malaysia, signed a training cooperation agreement with the University of Malaysia, Pahang (or 中马铁路人才培训合作计划) for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Industrial Skills Training Program. The program aimed to provide training to 3,600 Malaysian personnel from the East Coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, between years 2017 to 2022 in the rail industry. The China-Malaysia Railway Talent Training has started on September 25th, 2017. The first intake of 49 trainees consisting of 21 diploma and 29 degree holders in September 2017 graduated within 3 months of the start date ("中国交建助力“中马铁路人才培训合作计划”深度落地").
