Project narrative

On July 10, 2018, the Tunisian National Railway Company (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens), received 60 rail cars from China for the transport of cereals. According to the International Railway Journal, the total value of the cars was around 12 million Tunisian Dinars. These wagons would be used to transport grain in two rail freight services; one connecting Tunis with Bizerte and another linking Tunis and Ghardimaou. The cars were produced by Baotou Beifang Chuangye, a Chinese company specializing in the manufacture of freight vehicles, under a USD $4.5 million contract.
