Description

In 2015, the Cultural Minister of Bulgaria and the Minister of Culture of China signed an agreement to establish a mutual cultural center in Sofia. On November 23, 2017, the opening ceremony of the Sofia China Cultural Center (Китайски културен център) held its opening ceremony. Zhang Xu, Deputy-Minister of the Ministry of Culture of China, Zhang Haizhou, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria, Boil Banov, Cultural Minister of Bulgaria, Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, along with over 100 representatives from the two countries attended the ceremony. The center will offer courses in Mandarin, fine arts and calligraphy, music, martial arts (wushu), dancing, and culinary arts. The Sofia Chinese Cultural Center is an official cultural institution established by the Chinese government in Bulgaria. It is located in the center of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, with a beautiful environment, convenient transportation, and a strong cultural atmosphere. The center has a total area of nearly 4000 square meters, with exhibition halls, a library, a multifunctional theater, and calligraphy, music, dance, and cooking training classrooms.
