Project narrative

On December 31, 2003, the Chinese Government agreed to provide a grant worth RMB 10 million ($1.2 million USD) for the provision of provide equipment — including computers, monitors, televisions and a desktop publishing system — to the National Library of Belarus in the capital city of Minsk. Then, on June 24, 2005, the Chinese Government and the Government of Belarus signed an exchange of letters, which formalized this grant commitment. The Chinese Government officially handed over the donated equipment to the local authorities in December 2006.
