Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

The Chinese National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine established the China-Montenegro Traditional Chinese Medicine Center in June 2017. The center, located in Podgorica, was co-operated by the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ministry of Health of Montenegro. The Montenegro Branch of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was also involved. Montenegro's soil and climate were ecologically well-suited for the cultivation and processing of Chinese herbal medicines. Montenegro was the second European country to establish a traditional Chinese medicine center. The center was unveiled on June 21, 2017.

Staff comments

The Chinese project title is 中国-黑山中医药中心. AidData deduced that this project featured a grant based on "established" used in several sources. "Year uncertain" was checked because the commitment year is unclear; some sources suggest that this center had been in planning since 2015 (for example, "Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Milo Đukanović of Montenegro"), while other sources (such as "黑山共和国议长布拉约维奇访川" and "“中国-黑山中医药中心”在黑山揭牌") seem to imply that the center was signed for during the 5th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in November 2016. However, none of these sources are explicit, so 2017 was chosen.
