Description

According to the UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund), on December 12, 2019, it signed an agreement with China International Development Cooperation Agency (中华人民共和国国家国际发展合作署) that China will provide USD $2 million grants to help the victims of Cyclone Idai in Zimbabwe. Cyclone Idai strikes Zimbabwe on March 15, 2019, with more than 270,000 people being affected. The donation comes from the Fund for South-South Cooperation(南南合作援助基金) of Chinese Government. According to a media report on July 3, 2020, the grant which is being implemented under the just launched Post Disaster Restoration Assistance after Cyclone Idai in Zimbabwe project, will assist affected communities in Chimanimani and Chipinge.
