Chinese Government provides grant for Luanda General Hospital Sewage System Rehabilitation Project (linked to Umbrella #53184)

Project narrative

On 24 March, 2014 and 9 June, 2014, the Chinese Government and the Government Angola signed letters of exchange for the Luanda General Hospital Sewage System Rehabilitation Project. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce provided a grant of an unspecified value for this project. This project involved increasing the hospital sewage treatment design standards, installing high-quality sewage treatment equipment, and installing a new piping system. The Beijing Institute of Architectural Design was responsible for planning and design and China Railway Fourth Bureau (CREC4) was the contractor responsible for implementation. The project was officially handed over to the Angolan authorities on 26 February 2015. The Chinese Government made several other financial commitments to the Luanda General Hospital Rehabilitation and Expansion Project (see Umbrella Record ID#53184).
