Project narrative

On 4 May 2020, the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji handed over medical supplies to Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services to aid in the fight against COVID-19. This donation is the first batch of Chinese anti-epidemic materials given to Fiji. The second donation arrived in June 2020 (see Record ID#68648). The medical supplies are intended to aid in the protection of Fiji’s front-line medical staff. The medical supplies include 52 boxes of medical supplies that contained 1000 pieces of medical disposable protective clothing, 1000 pieces of medical protective goggles, 100 pieces of infrared thermometers, 1000 pieces of N95 protective face masks for medical use, 500 pairs of disposable sterilized rubber surgical gloves and 500 pairs of medical isolation shoe covers. The donation is worth 270,000 Fijian dollars (about $119,880).
