Description

On 1 June 2020, the Chinese ambassador to Fiji participated in a handover of ceremony of medical supplies worth 100,000 and a grant of USD 800,000 to Fiji from China. The donation also involved the assistance from the Provincial Government of Guangdong. Ambassador Qian Bo and Fiji's Minister of Health attended the handover ceremony. This is the second batch of Chinese anti-epidemic materials given to Fiji. The first donation occurred in May 2020 (see project ID#68647). The donation included 200,000 face masks, 200,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 50,000 protective suits, 10,000 COVID-19 test kits, 300 infrared thermometers, and USD 800,000.
