Description

On September 4, 2017, during the second meeting of the Uruguay-China Joint Commission on Cooperation in Science and Technology, the Chinese Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uruguay to co-establish a Joint Uruguay-China Laboratory. In the MoU, the Chinese Government pledged an unspecified amount of Chinese financial support for the project. The laboaratory was intended to serve as an avenue for advanced research and the exchange and training of researchers.
