In 2000, the Chinese Government signed a grant that provided a $1.2 million USD supply of general goods. The grant was given to Sri Lanka's Ministry of Finance and Planning. The completion of the grant is unknown. This grant was one of 3 grants signed in 2000 between China and Sri Lanka, the other two being an ETCA and a grant to the Muthurajawela Oil Tank Farm.
