Description
On June 13, 2016, China’s Ministry of Commerce provided a $6.4 million grant to the Government of Mozambique for the Drilling of 202 Wells Project. This project, which was funded with the proceeds from a $16 million grant agreement that the Chinese Government and the Government of Mozambique signed in 2016 (see Project ID#52339), involved the drilling of 102 boreholes in Maputo province and 100 boreholes in Gaza Province. The ultimate objective of the project was to provide drinking water to over 60,000 rural residents. In Maputo and Gaza provinces. Zhongding International Construction Group Co.,Ltd. was the contractor responsible for project implementation. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on August 1, 2017. Then, construction began in December 2017. The project was ultimately completed in 2018.
