On 23 August 2019, the Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, Tian Qi, hosted a reception to honor twelve Jamaican students awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Chinese Full Scholarship. These students will pursue their Master's or Bachelor's degrees in various academic fields at prestigious universities in China starting in September 2019.
