Project narrative

On August 3, 2006, the Chinese government announced that it will provide $1.25 million USD in scholarships to 10 Antiguan and Barbudan students to study in China. The students can choose both their major and institution to complete two to seven years of study. This is the first batch of scholarships offered by China since the two countries established diplomatic relations. On July 30, 2007, the Antigua and Barbuda government and the Chinese Embassy held a joint press conference to announce the students who won the Chinese government scholarship.
