Project narrative

On 5 September 2018, the Tobago House Assembly (THA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) for the provision of several engineering internships. Four engineers from the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment (DIQE) will undergo training programs on active job sites with CRCC in order to transfer technical expertise from Chinese teams. The first of these internships was undertaken by Gemmond Maynard in January of 2019 for three months at the Curepe Overpass site. The engineer was set to undergo training in management processes and best practices on mega projects. On 6 August 2019, three more engineers embarked on a 3 week seminar in Beijing.
