Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On October 9, 2019, the People's Republic of China donated 500,000 USD to the Government of the Bahamas' National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in order to respond to the impact of Hurricane Dorian on the country. A handover ceremony was held at NEMA headquarters on Nassau. Hurricane Dorian was a category 5 hurricane that hit The Bahamas at the beginning of September, 2019. This financial donation is linked to two earlier donations; a 20,000 USD donation of emergency supplies relief from China (Record ID#69995) and a 100,000 USD financial donation from Red Cross of China (Record ID#69998).
