Description
On January 8, 2020, the General Manager of China Jiangsu International, Yé Ning, and the Ivorian Minister of National Education, Kandia Camara, signed a memorandum of understanding for the provision of 34 billion FCFA from China Jiangsu International for the construction and financing of six schools in Côte d'Ivoire, and for the conduction of a feasibility study on the project. Four of these will be elite high schools in Bondoukou, San Pedro, Abengourou, and Bouafle. The money from the MOU disbursed to these four schools will be 20 billion CFA. The other two schools will be vocational schools in Sinfra and Didievi and will receive 14 billion CFA of the total 34 billion FCFA. Information on the implementation of this project has not been confirmed. Because the only commitment evidence of this project is the signed MOU, the status of this project is coded as “Pledge.”
