Project narrative

On March 1, 2016, Hanban and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University signed an agreement with Anton de Kom University of Suriname to establish a Confucius Institute. On February 16, 2017, the unveiling ceremony of the Confucius Institute at Anton de Kom University of Suriname was held. This is the first Confucius Institute in Suriname. The first Chinese language training classes were held in April 2017, and more than 80 students were enrolled. On May 12, 2017, the official opening ceremony of the first Chinese class in the Institute was held.
