Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On September 24, 2017, Wei Wenhua, the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, promised on behalf of the Chinese Government to provide a modern day table tennis hall at Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. The official grant agreement was signed and the foundation stone laid on December 27, 2017. Shanxi Construction and Engineering was the contractor responsible for project implementation. Work started December 29, 2017 and was expected to be complete by May 2018. On April 25, 2018, construction was complete, and the hall was officially handed over to the Cameroonian Government, which was represented by Bidoung Nkpatt, the Minister of Sport and Physical Education. The table tennis court covers 110 square meters and comprises a hall of 300 to 400 seats, two dressing rooms and two offices.
