Project narrative

On June 5, 2008, China sent the eighth medical team, consisting of 15 doctors, to Georgetown, Guyana. The doctors arrived in Guizhou on June 11 to serve at Georgetown Hospital and Linden Hospital for a period of two years. A reception was held at the Embassy of Guyana to recognize the team on August 8, 2008. Since 1993, China has sent small teams of medical experts and doctors to Guyana to assist the local population (see Record ID#73725).
