Full Description

Project narrative

On December 4, 2018, Hanban and the rector of the University of El Salvador signed an agreement to establish a Confucius Institute at UES. On November 28, 2019, the Confucius Institute was officially launched in partnership with the University of Sciences and Technology of Southwest China. The Confucius Institute will serve as a center for learning about Chinese culture and language. The school currently has four Chinese instructors focused on offering introductory Mandarin classes ("China and El Salvador: An Update"). The facilities are located in the School of the Arts, and a cooperation fund was allocated for the construction of a building that was to begin in 2020. It is unclear whether this building was constructed.
