Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 4, 2016, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government donated an erhu to the China-Panama Cultural Center. The donation was intended to serve as a symbol of Chinese culture. An erhu is a two-stringed bowed musical instrument, more specifically a spike fiddle. It is known as as a Southern Fiddle and, in the Western world, as the Chinese violin or a Chinese two-stringed fiddle. The monetary value of this donation is unknown.
