Description

In 2017, the Chinese Government signed an unspecified agreement for the Hanoi Chinese Culture Center (CCC) Construction Project. On November 12, 2017, government officials jointly unveiled their plans to establish the Center at the newly inaugurated Vietnam-China Friendship Palace (see Project ID #85377, #64398). This project was financed by an unspecified grant from the Chinese Government. According to the Center's official website, the purpose of this project was to promote Chinese culture through events, training, ideological dialogue, information services, and tourism promotion. In January 2018, a spokesman of the cultural department of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced that they would help build the facility. As of August 2020, a temporary office was opened in Hanoi while works were underway at the Vietnam-China Friendship Palace.
