In November 2015, China Eximbank loaned $3.78 million USD to the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the reconstruction of the Kukumbai pumping station in Namangan within the Navoi Region. The purpose of this project is to irrigate agricultural crops in Kukumbai (or Kukumbay) within the city of Namangan and the Navoi region. Loan details are unknown. The Kukumbai pumping station in Namangan was one of the 18 projects implemented in 2015 in the system of agriculture and water resources of the republic. According to a media report, the pumping station was completed on February 14, 2016.
