Project narrative

On December 24, 2019, Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi attended the "Hope Star" scholarship award ceremony at Madan Aashrit School in Toka City, Nepal. The Chinese Embassy in Nepal sponsored this scholarship program, which supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds. During the ceremony, Ambassador Hou also distributed in-kind donations, including winter clothing, stationery, and sports equipment. Madan Aashrit School was established in 2001 and officially registered as a public school in 2006. The school currently serves approximately 157 students from nursery to 8th grade, most of whom come from low-income families. The institution faces shortages of teaching materials, despite having a relatively sound teaching infrastructure.
