Project narrative
In 2004, the Chinese and Lesotho governments signed a bilateral agreement outlining the terms for dispatching Chinese medical teams to Lesotho. Under this agreement, the Chinese Government sent its 5th medical team (第五批医疗队) to Lesotho on July 2, 2005. The 15-member team, organized by Hubei Province, was stationed at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in the capital city of Maseru for a two-year mission that concluded on July 3, 2007. The team included specialists in surgery, neurology, and radiology and worked alongside local personnel to provide medical care, assist with hospital operations, and respond to emergency cases when needed. Since 1997, Hubei Province has been sending medical teams to Lesotho every 2 years.
