Project narrative

In 2012, China granted $1 million USD for the provision of food aid to the World Food Programme (WFP). The Chinese government specified that this 1 million USD in support for the WFP Emergency Food Assistance to Vulnerable Groups Project be directed to the DPRK. Specifically, the contribution will be used to buy around 1550 metric tons of maize, which will provide nutritional support to women and children most at risk of malnutrition.
