Description

On October 3, 2016, the governments of Barbados and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining cooperation between the two countries on medical assistance. According to the Embassy of China in Barbados, the MOU stipulated that four batches of medical experts would be dispatched to work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). These batches are captured by projects ID # #54835, #54834, #71321, and #54836. The MOU further included training for Barbadian doctors from QEH at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. This project captures that training. Though the exact dates and lengths of stay are unclear, sometime between the signing of the MOU and July 18, 2018, three doctors went to the Chinese hospital for training in the the fields of vascular surgery, laparoscopic surgery, orthopedics, and breast surgery.
